Beauty Gadgets that Work
1. The PMD Sonic Smart Cleansing Brush
The PMD Sonic Smart Cleansing Brush really does do it all – a beauty gadget that really works! Made from ultra-hygienic silicone, the PMD is odor-resistant, antibacterial, hypoallergenic – and the best bit – waterproof! Vibrating at a rate of 7000 vibrations per minute, the brush helps to remove make-up, dirt and excess oil while firming and toning the skin at the same time.
I apply cleanser and use the brush to cleanse my skin first, then apply face oil, turn the device over, and use the active warm facial massage side of the device to massage the oil in. My skin literally glows in an instant and looks so nourished too. The whole process takes under 5 minutes and it’s so easy to use. You can just wash it under the tap afterwards.
Although I did experience a breakout when I first started using the PMD as it brings everything to the surface, I haven’t had a breakout since. I absolutely love this gadget.

2. Foreo UFO 2 Mini
I do love a sheet mask but finding enough time to do one when there’s no chance of scaring anyone can be a challenge! But Foreo have come to the rescue with their clever UFO 2 Mini device. This “smart mask” is paired with an app to give you all of the benefits of a face mask in just 90 seconds. Simply pop the mask into your UFO and scan the bar code on the back of the mask’s packaging – and get started. The device does all the work for you while you sit and relax. Glowing skin in 90 seconds? It’s a ‘yes’ from me! Read my full review here.
3. Gua Sha
A Gua Sha facial is one my my favourite quick-fix home facials. Easy to do, it’s like a mini-workout for your skin. Gua Sha massage tools are usually made from rose quartz, known for its healing properties, or jade. Massaging your face with the specially sculpted tool stimulates the circulation and increases blood flow, helping to bring more radiance-boosting oxygen to the skin. Gua Sha is also believed to encourage lymphatic drainage and decrease puffiness while also helping to reduce brow and jaw tension where we often hold stress. Gua Sha is also thought to enhance the absorption of serums and facial oils by increasing absorption. I find it so effective and very quick and easy to fit in my routine regularly. 4. Gold Derma Roller
The textured surface of Gold Derma Roller looks quite abrasive at first glance but it’s really not! Designed specifically to activate your skin’s fitness level and to increase product penetration, I use my Derma Roller to ‘press’ face oils into my skin – and I really do notice that they absorb so much faster and deeper. Using the roller regularly also helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and to stimulate new cell growth too! Priced at £40, what’s not to like?

5. Konjac Sponge
The Konjac Sponge is such a simple and affordable beauty tool, yet it’s so effective! Made from the tuber of the Konnyaku plant (a bit like a potato) well-known in Asia for its healing properties, these sponges are incredibly sustainable as they are completely bio-degradable and vegan-friendly too. They not only cleanse and gently exfoliate but also boost radiance and leave skin glowing. I use mine in the shower with or without cleanser, depending on my skin’s needs. Once the sponge comes into contact with water, it transforms from a dry, fibrous texture to a gel-like consistency.
The lovely thing about these sponges is that they leave your skin feeling so clean afterwards without any tightness. Usually, when I cleanse my face with water, I have to moisturise immediately because my skin feels so tight. However, when I use the Konjac Sponge, my skin just feels fresh and nourished, with no need for additional moisturiser. There are a wide variety of Konjac sponges to choose from, including Bamboo Charcoal, French Red Clay, Green Tea, and Chamomile, depending on your skin’s needs. Once you’ve cleansed, simply hang your sponge up to dry and it’s good to go again in a few hours. Sponges usually last for around 3 months and cost only £9.95, so this is one beauty tool that you can afford to invest in!
I love all these tools – it’s been great finding beauty gadgets that work! Check out all my favourite skincare products here.
