Dani Guinsberg is a celebrity make up artist, and is represented by Carol Hayes Management. Dani has been a make up artist for over 20 years, and has worked on campaigns, advertising, TV, magazines and premieres. Like many of us, Dani is now trying to use natural, vegan, and paraben free makeup, where possible. I asked Dani for her top 5 picks this Summer.
Here is what she recommended;
This is a relatively new product and I’m so glad to have found it. Babe balm is 100% natural and vegan. It can be used under makeup as a primer; your foundation will simply glide on effortlessly over it. It will help your skin stay hydrated and look glowy all day or night. Babe balm is also great for ANY dry areas and is one of those amazing multi use products;
Here are my top 3 ways to use it:
- Use it as a moisturising night cream for the face, neck and chest. It has powerful antioxidant properties, and restores and regenerates skin for supple soft complexions.
- Use it as a nourishing and protective treatment for areas that suffer from dehydration. Calendula and hibiscus get to work on dry legs, hands, feet, elbows and knees.
- Babe balm can also be used on lips, cheeks and brows. It can be used as a highlighter, illuminator or lip gloss. It’s creamy texture means you can even mix with your mineral makeup to create bespoke blushes and stains.
A Summer must have!
Babe balm is available in 2 sizes ; 30ml which is perfect for your handbag and 60ml for your bathroom.
This is a brand new product that has only been available so far in America, but it’s set to launch here in the UK next month, and I’m so excited as I absolutely love it! When models sit in my makeup chair, the first thing I do after cleansing their face, is give their lips a quick lip scrub. This is so that their lips are prepped, as well as their skin. This product really helps lipstick glide on beautifully, and makes the lips look and feel so much healthier
This stunning kit of vegan nude lipsticks has great staying power! All the colours in this kit suit all skin tones, and the pigments are really rich in colour. These are in my makeup kit at all times for celebrity red carpet events, as actresses need lip colour that stays on all evening. For extra glamour I like to layer them with a lip gloss. As a vegan and animal activist, Kat Von D is committed to creating hyper-performance beauty products that are completely free of animal-derived ingredients, and never tested on animals.
Kat Von D lipstick normally retails at £17 but is on sale now at Debenhams for £15.30 – winner!
A wonderful way to cool down this summer on these amazingly hot days is to spritz your face with Instant Boost Skin Tonic Booster from Liz Earle . Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer is gentle enough to revitalise, soothe and hydrate our skin throughout the day. All the ingredients are natural, and I have to admit I’ve become quite addicted to this recently, as it’s been so hot in London. What I’ve noticed is how my makeup looks refreshed after spraying, and my skin takes on more radiant glow, rather than grease in the heat.
Instant Boost Skin Tonic retails at £15.50 from Liz Earle.
