Welcome to my round-up of the best face masks for glowing skin!
Face masks always sound like a lovely idea, but few of us ever have time to actually use them! But there’s no better time than now to add a face mask to your daily (or weekly) skincare routine to make the most of these long lockdown days.
Trialling these masks has certainly kept me off the internet and away from my TV screen, as well as helping me to invest time and effort in my skin and myself, both of which have been lovely!
Face Masks for Glowing Skin
I’ve divided the masks into two categories – the first you can apply and wear daily, while the second are more intensive and ideal for a self-care day or special treat, especially if you have some extra time to yourself – and won’t be disturbed by the postman!

FACE MASKS THAT WON’T SCARE THE POSTMAN!
Luckily, there are plenty of face masks that you can apply and leave on as you get on with your day to day chores. Many are barely noticeable, if not invisible – a great option when you’re busy and want to multi-task! I love this type of mask and tend to use them more as they are easy to apply, don’t get in the way of activities but still deliver all the benefits.
PAI Rosehip Biogenerate Mask

Best for: Radiance Boosting
Rich in omega 3, 6, 7, and 9 fatty acids and antioxidant carotenoids this mask promises to bring back radiance to dull, lackluster skin. And boy does it deliver! Just apply a generous layer of the mask to your skin and leave it on for the recommended 10 to 15 minutes. (Although I normally keep it on for a bit longer!) When I wash it off using the muslin cloth included, my skin feels like silk! It also calms my redness and leaves my skin hydrated and nourished.
Plus Points: One of the best things about PAI’s Rosehip Biogenerate Mask is that it’s totally fuss-free. There’s no putting aside time for ‘mask night’ required, as you just apply it like a daily moisturiser, leave it on while you go about your chores, then remove it with the muslin cloth. Simple, easy, and effective. Winner!
Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Mask

Best for: Plumping and Hydrating
I’m a big fan of Emma Hardie products and this mask is no exception. Rich in hyaluronic acid, a well-known ingredient for alleviating dry skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, it’s super-hydrating. It’s also great for brightening skin, reducing pigmentation, and evening out your complexion. I apply the mask to cleansed skin avoiding my immediate eye area, then leave it on while I’m getting dressed in the morning or while I’m watching TV in the evening.
Plus Points: You only need to leave Moringa Renewal Mask on for 10 to 15 minutes to see visible results. However, I like to keep it on for around 30 minutes (or longer!) – and sometimes I wear it as an overnight mask too. Great if you want to wake up with brighter, more radiant skin! I find it really plumps my skin and leaves it feeling very hydrated. I saw a big reduction in redness on my cheeks too.
Tropic Face Lift and Hydration Masks
I really like Tropic skincare. It’s a little like The Body Shop, but for this generation. Founded by Australian, Susie Ma, all the ingredients are sustainably sourced from the Amazon rainforest, Polynesia and Australia and are packed with powerful botanical actives. I love the fact that the range is affordable, all-natural – and the company is carbon-neutral too.

Tropic Face Lift Tightening Mask

Best for: Toning and Tightening
I usually avoid face masks that make my skin feel tight! But as the name suggests, this mask does have a tightening effect, especially when it’s applied, so it’s not the most comfortable one I’ve tried. However, you definitely get a ‘facelift’ feeling! I prefer gua sha for tightening my skin and masks for hydration, so this mask isn’t for me. It also contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), which make my skin a bit sensitive.
Plus Points: If it’s tightening and lifting you’re after, then Tropic’s Face Lift Tightening Mask is for you! And it’s packed with skin-enhancing ingredients including plumping agave nectar, rejuvenating sea buckthorn extract, and brightening turmeric.
Tropic Deep Hydration Soothing Cooling Mask

Best for: Soothing and Calming
I really love this mask, especially how cool it makes my skin feel when I apply it. The gel-like consistency means it’s pretty much invisible too, so it’s easy to ‘wear’ during the day. It’s also instantly hydrating, thanks to the combination of antioxidant-rich, restorative ingredients including moisturising resurrection flowers, brightening wild Australian super berries, and soothing allantoin.
Plus Points: It’s incredibly soothing and cooling, so perfect after a day in the garden in the sun! Easy to use with noticeable results!
Evolve Miracle Mask

Best for: Brightening
Evolve are a really interesting brand. To ensure maximum freshness of all the ingredients used, all Evolve’s products are lovingly hand-made in small batches in the UK. They are also vegan, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly. This Miracle Face Mask smells as good as it looks! Containing high-quality natural ingredients like Peruvian maca and papaya, it helps to increase cellular renewal and boost skin radiance.
Plus Points: In just a few minutes, it really brightens my skin and leaves it hydrated, and although it contains AHAs, I haven’t experienced any sensitivity.
FACE MASKS THAT MIGHT SCARE THE POSTMAN! (but will make your skin glow)

So, this category is for the hardcore mask enthusiast! Definitely not something you’ll want to wear ‘in public’, these masks are best saved for moments when no one else is around. You’ll also need to set aside some time for preparation, application, and removal – so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to do much in the way of multi-tasking while they’re on! But no pain no gain in the quest to look for the best face masks for glowing skin!
Natural Spa Factory

Best for: Home Spa Skin Treats
Natural Spa Factory has a huge variety of natural and vegan-friendly masks that are definitely spa-like in performance and quality! You can choose from sheet masks to mix-your-own powder and ready-made masks. Great for a self-care at-home spa day or pampering evening, you get a double-whammy of relaxation and skin benefits when you use them. Give yourself plenty of time for these masks as some are quite ‘wet’ so you can’t walk around once you’ve applied them.
Activated Charcoal feels lovely and cooling on the skin but scared my husband and my dog! And some are quite messy – Organic Cocoa Face Drench Mask is decadent but you’ll need to lie down once it’s been applied.
My favourite masks for glowing skin from the range were the Illuminate Cream Mask and Collagen Serum Sheet Mask.
Natural Spa Factory Illuminate Cream Mask

Best for: Plumping and Hydrating
This mask is brimming with natural goodness including shea butter, vitamin E, beeswax, and lemon balm. As soon as I put this mask on, I could feel the benefits. It felt so hydrating and has a delicious smell! You can move around when you have this mask on, but it’s best to sit down and relax so you get the full home spa benefits too. I left it on for just over 10 minutes and my skin felt totally amazing afterwards. Another bonus is that it washes off really easily with a warm flannel. I was left with hydrated, glowing skin, and could see an immediate difference. My skin also looked plumper too.
Natural Spa Factory Collagen Serum Sheet Mask

Best for: Dehydrated Skin
This Collagen Serum mask is perfect for dehydrated, dry or ageing skin. Packed with collagen and vitamin E, it really delivers for tired skin, making it feel more youthful and plumper. Don’t plan on doing any housework while you’re wearing this mask! To keep it in place, you need to lie down, but I don’t see that as a bad thing! But the benefits outweigh any disadvantages. My only bugbear with this mask is the fit. I had to be really careful as it tears easily and didn’t fit my face as snuggly as I would like.
Plus Points: I’ve found that it’s great for calming hot flashes too. I keep the sachets in the fridge to keep the mask chilled – a really refreshing skin treat. I really noticed a difference after application, and I’m sure that if I used these masks regularly, my skin would thank me!
MV Signature Mask

I love MV Skincare which is just perfect for sensitive skins like mine. A word of advice – read the instructions carefully before using MV products as it’s quite different from other skincare. This gentle calming Signature Mask is easy to mix and comes with its own handy mixing jar and spatula. It blends to a lovely creamy consistency which smooths on beautifully.
Plus Points: My skin loved this nourishing mask! No wonder it’s won the Ultimate Natural Award in the Beauty Bible Awards. It smells delicious and didn’t leave my skin feeling tight at all. The after-results? Smooth, nourished skin. One of the best face masks for glowing skin that I’ve tried!
Burt’s Bees Detoxifying and Exfoliating Masks
Over the last few years, Burt’s Bees have extended their cult beeswax lip balm range to include lip scrubs and butters, make-up, hand cream, and more recently, face masks. Not only are the face masks really effective, but they’re also perfect for anyone on a budget.
Burt’s Bees Detoxifying Clay Mask

Best for: Rebalancing Oily Skin
This mask feels great when you feel that your skin needs a deep clean. Ideal after a day in the city or when you’ve been on public transport – perfect post-lockdown essential when you’re back in the office or commuting. Detoxifying charcoal lifts away impurities while antioxidant ingredients including acai berry help to rebalance skin .
Plus Points: Detoxifying Clay Mask makes my skin feel really clean and fresh. I’d definitely recommend it for oily or blemish-prone skin as deep cleanses and rebalances in one.
Burt’s Bees Exfoliating Clay Mask

Best for: Gentle Exfoliation
This purifying clay mask is formulated to give you a smoother, healthier complexion. Great for unclogging pores and removing impurities, it’s a combination of purifying clay and antioxidant and Vitamin C rich Kakadu Plum. Easy to use, apply to clean dry skin, allow the clay to dry for 10 to 15 minutes then remove with warm water.
Plus Points: This is a great budget-friendly mask as a little goes a long way. It really feels like dead skin is being gently removed and my skin feels really clean after use. It’s super-easy to apply from the tube. No-fuss, no mess!
Skin Squad Green Tea Mask

Best for: Improving elasticity
Skin Squad’s rich and creamy Green Tea Mask is infused with a blend of cucumber, watermelon, apples, and antioxidant-rich green tea. It draws out impurities and excess oils leaving skin looking and feeling fresh. Green tea is also known for its anti-ageing properties and helps to reduce the visible signs of ageing by improving skin elasticity.
Plus Points: A lovely nourishing face mask that doesn’t dry out on your skin so it doesn’t feel tight at all. It feels lovely and cooling on the skin too, so perfect after my day in the garden! Left my skin feeling soft and dewy!
