I think one of the most shocking things I’ve learned on this journey is the most toxic place I frequent is my home! When I did the post with Amanda from Non Toxic Life I was upset to learn so many items at home are toxic to our health, everything from plastic tupperware dishes, candles, air fresheners, fabric conditioners, even my mattress that I spent £2000 on was toxic!
I’ve taken a lot of steps to detoxify my home – I even tried making my own cleaning products, but there were some products I’ve not been able to replace with big brand products yet, so it was great to discover Tincture London,a company that has filled all my needs for cleaning a non toxic home;
Tincture London have spent the past few years working with leading chemists to carefully create 100% natural cleaning products for the home. They only contain natural ingredients, yet still deliver exceptional cleaning results. Every product is developed from sustainable plant/vegetable based sources.
Great news – Tincture London’s original white, antimicrobial bottle is safe for multi-use and is fully recyclable. They are also trying to reduce single use plastic by offering glass refills, so you can reuse your original bottle multiple times before recycling.
All the products are cruelty free, and all are vegan except the furniture polish which contains sustainably sourced beeswax. Tincture London are a British brand, and all the products and ingredients are sourced and packaged right here in the UK – what more could we ask for!
I have to say I’ve been delighted with all the products. but one of my absolute favourites was the washing up liquid. I have been looking for months for a natural washing up liquid with a lot of disasters.
The lowdown; I need a washing up liquid that is kind to the planet but still does the job! This washing up liquid smells of eucalyptus which I love, and cut through grease with no problems and foams up perfectly even though it’s natural.
The results; The best natural washing up liquid I’ve tried by a long way, it works on even the greasiest of plates and so very reasonably priced too. I didn’t even need to use rubber gloves as it was so kind to my skin, and caused absolutely NO dryness.
The All Purpose Tincture has won a Janey Lee Grace award already; Janey interviewed me once when I was brand ambassador for Weleda, and ever since I have been a huge fan of her awards – she always finds the best products!
The low down; I wanted a cleaner that cleaned my surfaces well without chemicals. This cleaner works well on all surfaces, cleaning beautifully and is made of clove, sage and thyme and smells gorgeous.
The results; It cleaned my work surfaces really well, and my hands felt soft with no stinging or dryness afterwards, and is animal friendly too – result!
I’ve lost count of the times I have sprayed cleaner around my bath only to leave the room because I’ve been so overcome with fumes – has this ever happened to you? It’s such a horrible sensation, so I couldn’t wait to try Bathroom Tincture.
The lowdown; I decided to really put this cleaner to the test. I washed the filthiest member of our family – the dog! As you can see from the photo, my pup was filthy, and also as we are using bars of soap again, the side of my bath was a gooey mess. Bathroom Tincture had it’s work cut out; I sprayed it liberally all over my bath – there were no nasty fumes, and the mud, and soap goo came off very easily. I wore no gloves and my hands felt fine afterwards – no dryness at all.
The results; This is a great product, it cleans effectively without fumes or drying my skin. I won’t be using anything else in my bathroom now!
This floor cleaner may be my favourite from the range, although I’m having trouble choosing! The whole house smelled so clean and fresh after I cleaned all the floors with this. Our House has all wood floors that get filthy with dogs, cats and muddy boots. This vegan friendly, natural floor cleaning fluid is perfect for wood, stone, laminate, tiles and all other types of hard flooring. I only needed to use a few drops in a bucket full of water, so a little goes a long way and my home had a beautiful fresh lemon aroma all day – Winner!
So in the theme of my blog Does it Work; do these products work just as well as big brand products? The answer is YES – I have been converted to Tincture London and I won’t be looking back, I’ve even ordered more of the range already!
