Superfood Powders are an Easy Way to Boost Nutrition
Superfood Powders are a great way to ‘up’ your vitamin, mineral, and protein intake, but they are a bit of a minefield. With so many varieties on the market, the choice is bewildering.
Do I need more collagen? Or could I benefit from extra protein or greens in my diet?
Picking the right powder for you really depends on age, your diet, and any ailments you may have. I supplement my diet with collagen powder as I am menopausal and have problems with skin elasticity, as well as joint pain.
On top of that, I also take protein powder to support my plant-based diet and to keep my iron levels stable. Finally, I use green powders to give me a great all-round boost.

Which Superfood Powder is Best
The good news is that there is a powder out there to suit everyone, whether you’re following a vegan, gluten-free, kosher or Paleo diet.

Your Super Energy Bomb
Great for: An all-round energy boost
Your Super Powders bounced into my life and kicked me straight up the backside into action!
As soon as I opened the box, inspirational affirmation ‘tickets’ like “I am Forever Beautiful” and “I am capable of doing anything and everything” tumbled out – and from that moment I was hooked! The powders also come with a recipe booklet which I think is just genius. I have made raw balls, smoothies, smoothie bowls, and dressings – the list is endless.
Give yourself a kick with Energy Bomb
I’m always looking for ways to replace coffee. It’s one of my few vices and I’m still clinging on to it for dear life!
However, Energy Bomb promises to change all that. One spoon of powder = one coffee and it has really changed my habit. It’s so easy to use – plus, it tastes good too. Add a spoonful to a cup of almond milk and feel yourself spring (quite literally in my case) into action!
How to Use:
You can add Your Super Energy Bomb Mix to raw ball mixes, yoghurt, juice, and smoothies. As they’re not too powdery, you can even sprinkle them over peanut butter on toast or over salads.
They are definitely the most versatile powders that I’ve tried.
Without a doubt, my absolute favourite Superfood Powders at the moment. Competitively priced, they taste great and have no ‘powdery’ aftertaste.

Try this recipe
Raw Ball Recipe
- 1 tbsp Energy Bomb
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup almonds
Blend all ingredients in a food processor until sticky and roll into balls. Ready to eat! Store the rest in the fridge.
Normally I find a food processor works better than a high-speed blender.
In the past, I have tried loads of food processors but my absolute favourite is this Sage appliance designed by Heston Blumenthal, I absolutely love it.

Great for: Boosting protein and iron levels
Sunwarrior Powders are one of the best Superfood Powder ranges on the market. They are raw, paleo, kosher, gluten-free, and vegan and at 85% protein, and have the highest levels of raw wholegrain sprouted vegan protein. Also, they are also classed as being raw, no- GMO, organic, and soy-free.
First of all, Sunwarrior Protein comes in 2 varieties – Classic and Warrior Blend. The Classic is made from wholegrain brown rice, while Warrior Blend is made from pea, hemp seed, and cranberry seed proteins.
My preferred choice is the Warrior Blend as I find it’s easier to digest and too much brown rice makes me feel bloated.
Warrior Blend comes in 3 flavours – natural, chocolate and vanilla. Normally, I prefer the natural flavour as I’m not a fan of chocolate flavouring. Vanilla is perfect if you have a sweet tooth, or for a newbie smoothie-maker swapping from sugary sodas.
Also, I love their Collagen Powder but it’s currently only available in the US. One scoop of Warrior Powder has 30% of your daily iron intake.
How to use
Add to smoothies and blend until smooth.
This superfood powder is great for anyone like me who has low iron levels as it’s an easy way to ensure they are topped up. Importantly, it mixes easily in liquid but I wouldn’t add this powder to food because of its consistency.

Your Superfood Super Green Mix Powder
Great for: Supercharging your diet and alkalizing your body
Previously I always bought green powders only to discover that they are either too bitter to drink/eat or it was like eating grass!
The result? They sit unused in my cupboard. So, I’m delighted to have found this Super Green Powder as it is the first green powder I’ve tried that’s actually palatable! Furthermore, I love the fact that one spoon = a whole handful of greens. It’s a simple way of adding more nutrition and vitamins to your daily intake.
How to Use:
Stir straight into the water for an instant green juice, or add to smoothies, smoothie bowls, raw balls, green curries or yoghurt.
One of the best green powders I’ve tried with absolutely no bitterness or aftertaste. Boost your wellbeing and alkalize your body easily with this powder, it’s so versatile and easy to use.
Try this delicious recipe
Vegan Pesto Pasta
- 1 tsp Super Green mix
- 1 serving pasta
- ½ cup basil leaves
- ¼ cup cashews
- 3 tbsp pine nuts (or cashews)
- 2-3 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
- ½ garlic clove
- ¼ cup water
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- salt, to taste
- Cook the pasta according to the package.
- Meanwhile, in a food processor pulse the basil, cashews, garlic, and pine nuts until finely chopped.
- While the food processor is running, slowly pour in the oil and water and continue to process until well combined.
- Season the pesto with salt.
- Toss the cooked pasta with 2-3 tbsp pesto until evenly coated.
- Spoon into a bowl and serve.
- Store the remaining pesto in an air-tight container for up to 5 days.
Great for: Improving skin and hair and reducing joint pain
Unbelievably, Great Lakes Collagen contains a whopping 11g of protein per serving. A pure protein dietary supplement, it has a unique combination of beneficial amino acids vital for all-round health. As well as this, it is an excellent boost for skin, hair, and nail condition.

Not suitable for vegans or vegetarians, it is Paleo-friendly and Whole30 Approved and free from dairy, soy, carrageenan, gluten, artificial sweeteners, and added sugars.

Without a doubt, this is one of the easiest ways to up collagen levels in your diet. I bought this for my husband who is always complaining of joint pain but who isn’t a smoothie man!
It’s not too creamy, is very simple to use, and is great for anyone who is always running out of milk for their coffee!
Perfect for my coffee-loving husband who doesn’t like anything that tastes like ‘grass’ and who never puts weight on, despite eating whatever he likes. Yeah! Annoying, right?
