Following on from my last post – Can You replace alcohol with a Plant-Based elixir, I was thrilled to try Three Spirit’s latest zero-alcohol botanical beverages, Nightcap and Livener. Just what we all need at the moment!
Three Spirit Drinks
Three Spirit drinks are all plant-based, ALCOHOL-FREE drinks created using plants and herbs chosen to create effects similar to alcohol. Three spirit drinks are all completely alcohol-free and are designed to make you feel good! All Three Spirit ingredients are VEGAN, LOW IN CALORIES, and SUSTAINABLY SOURCED.
In this post, I will show you how to make plant-based cocktails that are not only healthier for you but they taste DELICIOUS too!
I absolutely loved road-testing the first Three Spirit Elixir Alcohol-Free drink. All the cocktails I made with Social Elixir were delicious – and really did produce feelings of well-being without the negative side-effects of traditional alcoholic drinks. Three Spirit Social Elixir is a plant-based alcohol-free drink created by some of the best bartenders, herbalists and botanical scientists in the world.
The plants have all been carefully chosen to create effects similar to that of alcohol, helping you to relax and unwind, with none of the downsides. No headaches or morning-after regrets!
Not only that but everything comes in zero plastic recyclable packaging and their products are 100% vegan, and Three Spirit practice environmentally friendly methods across everything they do.
If you missed my post you can catch up on it here.
However, I thought I’d share with you a brand new recipe using Social Elixir.
Light & Stormy
- 50ml Social Elixir
- Ginger ale/ginger beer
Fill a tall glass with ice and add 50ml Three Spirit Elixir. Top with ginger ale and garnish with lime.
Drift off to sleep with Three Spirit Nightcap
So many of us suffer from mild sleep difficulties to full-blown insomnia these days as a result of stress. It’s certainly one of the health and wellbeing concerns that I’m asked about most often. Especially with all that’s going on in the world at the moment!
But there’s good news! Three Spirit has created Nightcap as an alternative to a Hot Toddy, which I was really excited to sample.
Nightcap has been formulated with a blend of tried-and-trusted herbs proven to encourage sleep. There’s adaptogenic ashwagandha to combat stress; white willow bark to comfort and valerian root and hops to soothe the mind. Black pepper and citrus herbs make this a deliciously aromatic drink. I think it’s a stroke of genius!
This drink can be taken a bit like a Baileys with ice which is how I like it.
Or as a Hot Toddy-style nightcap.
Zen Hot Toddy
- 60ml Three Spirit Nightcap
- 10ml Maple Syrup
- 150ml boiling water
- Lemon wheel studded with cloves
- 1 star anise
- optional dash of whisky
Stud a lemon slice with cloves. Warm your glass/mug with hot water. When it’s warm empty out water and add ingredients. Stir briefly and serve piping hot.
Three Spirit Nightcap Review
Nightcap tastes a bit like ginger and has a slightly spicy taste, probably thanks to the black pepper and citrus herbs. It’s warming to drink, tastes delicious and is very comforting. And the best news is that I literally sleep like a baby when I drink it! In fact, the first time I had a Three Spirit Nightcap, I sank into such a deep sleep that I had loads of vivid dreams! One of the most interesting things is that I didn’t wake up feeling groggy at all. Instead, I woke up in a good mood (very unlike me) and was raring to go!
This has got to be one of the best sleep products I’ve tried – I can’t live without it now!
Kick-start with Three Spirit Livener
This is the perfect feel-good drink, especially when you need a pick-me-up. I often look forward to a night out, but when it comes around, often I just can’t be bothered! So this is the perfect pre-party drink to give me that little push out the door! Full of uplifting botanicals including guayusa, guava leaf, and green tea, and delicious plant extracts like schisandra berries, ginseng, and apple cider vinegar, this is definitely an energising drink.
Because this is a plant-based drink, it’s not strictly reserved for the evenings. I’ve been substituting coffee for Livener and I actually prefer it! Coffee sometimes makes me anxious and gives me palpitations. Livener is a real mood enhancer, plus it gives me a massive kick to get started in the mornings! Perfect before going to the gym, or before a home workout as it works a treat as an energy-booster.
- 50ml Three Spirit Livener
- 50ml cranberry juice
- 10ml lime juice
- Optional Dash of vodka (personally I don’t)
Add to an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake hard. strain into a cocktail. Garnish with cranberries, orange wheel or cherries. Enjoy!
Three Spirit Fierce Spritz
- 50ml Livener
- 25ml pink grapefruit juice
- Top with kombucha or lemonade
Add all the ingredients to a large ice-filled wine glass. Stir briefly and serve immediately.

Three Spirit Drink Review
With its fruity peppery flavour, Livener has quite a kick. It also makes a pretty good substitute for coffee with similar feel-good and energising properties. Perfect for a quick pick-me-up when you don’t feel like going out, or great if you are socialising and want to feel lively but without the negative effects of alcohol. I really feel that Three Spirit are leading the way with these AF drinks. So many people are trying to live healthier lifestyles and are either cutting down their alcohol intake or giving it up completely. But if like me, you still want a treat or the “buzz” of being out and being sociable, Three Spirit drinks are a perfect choice. Both Nightcap and Livener are absolute winners in my books – and I’d certainly recommend that you give them a try. Cheers!
