I am also a wellness coach and nutritional therapist specialising in getting my clients back on track to a healthier and happier life.
So many of us are suffering from health issues that are hard to treat using orthodox medicine. The reason? Not everything can be treated with traditional medication – and that’s where alternative and complementary medicine can bridge the gap. Wellness coaching helps people to find effective holistic ways to feel healthier and to heal themselves from emotional and physical pain. Wellness coaching is a bit like fitness coaching but focuses on emotional, physiological, and emotional health and wellbeing, rather than just physical fitness.

How wellness coaching works
All wellness coaches have their own ways of working. I work with all my clients on a one-on-one basis (currently via Zoom) to provide easy-to-use tools that will help them to achieve their personal wellness goals.
Working closely with each client, I help them to focus on their life goals and to identify the steps they need to follow to achieve them while supporting them through any obstacles that might stand in their way. It’s important for me to encourage my clients to make their own choices rather than me telling them what to do.
Why you might need a Wellness Coach
People often turn to coaching when they need motivation, support, or encouragement to make some positive changes in their life. Whether it’s a simple case of losing a few pounds for an event to eating well or feeling less stressed, I help people set ACHIEVABLE goals, then highlight possible outcomes and clarify a path to achieving those outcomes.
One of my favourite ways to coach women is to support them through menopause. Menopause is a tricky time for most women as the symptoms can be overwhelming, ever-changing, and endless! Going through it myself has really helped me focus on exactly what the problems are and how to solve them. After experiencing firsthand the lack of support, you get from the medical profession, I made it my mission to research the menopause and find effective alternative solutions. And I’m delighted to report that I have already helped hundreds of women to feel better!
Hot flushes and other symptoms are normally a sign that the liver needs more support and it can be a fairly easy fix to get these symptoms under control. Most importantly, I believe that there is no need to go on HRT. I help with lifestyle changes including eating a cleaner diet, sleep management, and supplements to combat symptoms. Most of us suffer from some form of stress which impacts our health, directly or indirectly. The main problem is that our body is unable to distinguish between different types of stress and only reacts in a ‘flight or fight’ response. So, we react in the same way, whether we are fighting off an infection or being chased by a bear! Many of us have lived our lives in a stress response for so long that we start to suffer from adrenal fatigue which can, in turn, lead to other health issues.
Because stress is so prevalent in our lives, it is vital that we find ways to reduce it in order to feel our best. I help my clients to reduce their stress levels by teaching them meditation, how to be ‘present’ and live in the moment and how to breathe correctly.
Meal Planning and Food Prep
Most people who are eating unhealthily have usually fallen into a food rut and are making choices for convenience rather than for health. I have a number of easy but effective solutions to help my clients save time and money by teaching them the art of food prep. This involves planning and preparing meals for the week ahead with some of the benefits of being healthier food choices, saving money, and losing weight. I also help women begin to understand the mind-body connection between their relationship to food, helping them to achieve a better body image.
Get back into Exercise
Not everyone is a gym bunny and that’s okay! I’m a big believer in doing the exercise that’s right for you. People who live in “blue zones” (zones where people live longest) don’t run marathons or do HIIT. Normally, they walk, garden, and are just generally more active. I love the NEAT approach and recently helped a client lose nearly a stone just by increasing her daily steps and physical daily exercise without going to a gym. So, I will come up with the right plan that is an achievable routine and that fits in with your daily life to help you feel your fittest and healthiest. Find my favourite fitness programmes here.
At some point, all of us will have problems with our sleep, whether it’s falling asleep, staying asleep, being restless, or waking up frequently during the night. If sleep issues are affecting you, I can help you tackle them. I have struggled with sleep issues myself and understand how important sleep is to functioning optimally and to living your best life. We often think we are short of time, but the truth is that we are actually wasting it aimlessly scrolling through pointless social media posts when we could be investing that time in ourselves. I like to encourage my clients to get back into reading good old fashioned books, especially self-development books that will help their journey to health. After I have gained a good understanding of my client’s needs, I recommend books to aid their journey.
I use a variety of techniques to help my clients overcome blocks. These include tapping or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), meditation, raising their vibration, and vision boards. Tapping is a phenomenal tool for creating change, calming the intensity of physical pain, and emotional upset. It can be used in addition to meditation because it’s non-invasive and incredibly effective.
